It's about time!

I titled my blog today MII, for missing in INaction. My brain has felt utterly and almost totally useless for the past 5 years, and awash in in-activity. My kids are getting older, and as I see them grow into wonderful little people, I'm reminded that it's up to us to set examples for our kids. Examples that take part in intelligent discussions... that make time to enact change... that strive to make the world a better place for everyone... and are unapologetically proud of being true to themselves.

I pride myself on being an independent politically. I have only recently gained the confidence in myself to feel proud of being independently myself. I love collecting facts and making desicisions based on those facts. I LOVE CHANGING MY MIND because it means that I have continued to keep an open mind and am open to change. The most DANGEROUS thing to America is closed minded people.

I love having intelligent discussions with people who arge logically and are committed to facts. If my "facts" are ever incorrect, I invite you to correct me. I implore you to correct me. A person is only as reliable as his sources!!

I started this blog today because I have been thinking about it for a while (I don't feel comfortable cluttering the family blog with my musings) and I listened to talk radio this morning searching for my NPR. It saddened me that so many people in the world listen to people because they like what they hear. Conservatives flock to Rush Limbaugh... liberals flock to ... I don't know to be honest! Maybe I should find out! Individuals with a certain worldview should seek out those who don't share the same views to expand their perspective and dialogue. Find out why the differences are there. Human beings are so uniquely amazing in this respect. Dialogue and find a common ground, understand differences, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make logical arguements instead of just hate mongering the "enemy." I'm talking to YOU talk radio!!
